Better Business startade 1995 as Bättre Affärer. Veronica Boxberg Karlsson was working alone in the company with service training, quality development programs, market research and marketing.
One hotel chain assigned Veronica to test their units in Sweden. When Veronica had stayed in all their 55 hotels in Sweden, they wanted the same Mystery Shopping program in Denmark, then Norway, Finland, Estonia, Belgium and Holland. When finally all seven countries wanted visits at the same time, Veronica needed to hire people to help her. The base was Veronicas home office and the internal meetings were held at the kitchen table.
Then number of assignments increased, particularly in the retail industry and the shoppers´travelling throughout and outside the Nordic countries turned out to be expensive and time consuming. That led to a research on how other companies with long experience of Mystery Shopping worked. This resulted in that the company in 1999 moved to the present office building by Lindö Golfklubb and started the foundation of a bank of local Mystery Shoppers and devlopment of the first version of the online system for reporting in real time.
Better Business has developed many concepts for service companies, among them the SSQ-Award, Scandinavian Service & Quality Award, as well as Superb Service and Service Index. Veronica is the author of "The book about Mystery Shopping", and co-author of the first book about Mystery Shopping for leaders and providers; "Measurung Management and the Moment of Truth" and the first book that has been written about Mystery Shopping in Swedish; "Därför skall vi ha Mystery Shopping".
In 2000 Better Business became a member of the trade organisation MSPA. In 2001 MSPA Europe was formed and Veronica became the President for the first three years. 2003 Veronica was one of the founders of IMSA, the Mystery Shopping Alliance with over 500.000 mystery shoppers world wide. 2005 Veronica received the MSPA Hall of Fame Award. Since 2006 Veronica is vice chair in MSPA Global Board.
Veronica was also elected the company leader of the year 2006 by the Federation of Private Enterprises and the Community of Vallentuna.
2008 Better Business was awarded as a DI-Gazelle company.
